What is Fernwood Neighbourhood House?
The Fernwood Neighbourhood House is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Fernwood.
Since 1979, our non-profit charitable organization has provided child care, family, seniors, and community programs, recreation activities, and food security initiatives like the Good Food Box at the Fernwood Community Centre. We host Fernwood’s annual neighbourhood celebration – FernFest, and support placemaking and community development initiatives in Fernwood. We organize the Gift of Good Food fundraiser annually which supports families in need across Greater Victoria with fresh fruit and vegetables. We publish the Village Vibe, Fernwood’s neighbourhood newspaper and share the voices of our community. We operate ten, three-bedroom units of affordable housing for families in the Cornerstone Apartments and Park Place Apartments.
